The long ruined capital of the elven realm of Eregion, Ost-in-Edhil is rumored to be a haunted place. It was destroyed in the Second Age when Sauron tried to capture the various rings. Most of the inhabitants were slain with small bands of survivors scattering to found Rivendell or find sanctuary in Lorien.
