POINTS: 170 -- of which 25 points must be either basic Pattern (for Amberites) or, for Chaos Lords, 20 points of Shapeshifting (Wounds, Parts, Automatic, Animals) and 5 points of Logrus or more SS.

ATTRIBUTES: Psyche, Strength, Endurance and Warfare. Medium Elder stats for the first three are around 20-30 points. High and Endurance and Strength (except for Gerard) run about 45. High Psyche is around 60; Brand and Fiona run higher than that. For Warfare, 25-30 is low; 60 or so for medium, 75-90 for high, Benedict was higher than that.

ATTRIBUTES are usually combined. Melee is figured as Warfare + 1/2 Strength. Hand to hand combat is Strength plus 1/2 Warfare. Psychic combat would be Psyche plus 1/2 Warfare (for physical contact) or 1/2 the power used for the contact, usually Trump or magic.

QUIRKS OR SPECIALIZATIONS cover things not covered by basic Attributes. Things like Acrobat, Beauty, Style, Musician, Gambler, Detective. They cost 1-4 points depending on how broad and useful they are. They will either substitute for an Attribute for that particular thing or allow you to apply the most relevant Attribute to it. Napoleon, for instance, would have a Chaos Warfare but 4 points in 'Napoleonic Era Generalship' that give him the equivalent of a 20 Warfare in his particular niche. If Fiona or Julian had 4 points in, say, Detective, they'd apply their Psyche and Warfare, respectively, to it.

• 2 points: it has some innate useful trait, like fast-time relative to Amber or it is hard to get to
• 4 points: it's damned special

• 1 point: you have influence there; you could, for instance, use an existing army

ALLIES

• No Devotees due to the reduced ranks of elders
• 1 point: minor ally (Shadow king, captain of Amber guard, Amber mortal magnate or major noble) or Ally in Chaos
• 2 points: Ally in Amber, a family member; Chaos House ally. Limit: 1.
