Florimel splits her time between Amber and her Shadow Earth. She and Random seem to enjoy needling each other. Florimel is the King’s Trump Artist, having stepped forward on Benedict’s advice. She has made Trumps of the newer members of the family for all.

Florimel hid most of her talents, particularly the Trump Artistry, from the family for centuries. (Dworkin had taught her on the sly.) Her main ambition in the family was to be left alone. By faithlessly supporting whomever looked to have the winning hand she got her wish for quite some time. Telling Eric that she'd found Corwin was a mistake she regretted for centuries.

Flora has one son, Mykal, by an artist and samurai of [Shadow Naipon]?. They get along well. She taught him Trump Artistry; he is well on his way to surpassing her in the art.

Flora is physically the strongest of Oberon's daughters. Pound for pound she's the stronger than any of her brothers too... but they all outweigh her.

Flora and Deirdre's long time low lever feud got out of hand when Deirdre's machinations got Mykal's father killed. Flora could have saved him by trampling on his samurai honor and treating him as something less than a free adult. She didn't. Deirdre hasn't made any moves since and Flora has respected Random's wishes regarding peace within the family. Deirdre's recent travails have left Flora with mixed feelings. She cannot approve of any woman, particularly a Princess of Amber, being enslaved and used as a concubine. On the other hand...

Flora actually likes only three members of the family: Gerard, Vialle and Mykal. The rest she tolerates. Fiona and Bleys put her most on her guard.

Flora was nearly blown up by the Black Watch assassin called the Hunter, losing part of a foot and sustaining serious burns. He later caught her and crucified her, saying that she'd be the last to die. She is mostly healed now.
