Mykal's Journal Entry 13

I have charges set to *rearrange* the topogrophy of my Paris. Fiona thinks this will loosen the gate from that particular spot and allow it to be moved somewhere else..i have her standing by to try to move it to a place of my choosing (with a nice little strike team standing by). I give the word and there are Fireworks over Paris a little early this year. Mom almost has it, when Corwin intervened and took it away from her..he must have some serious backup of some kind. Mom is unconsious. The gate is now in an area of His choosing, and i am getting reports of a serious push through the new gate, i order troops in but they are out of position, and will have a nasty fight ahead of them. Mom's general trumps and says her forces are being pushed back by a major push in in progress there too. the last portal is nearly unapposed, the troops there are severely overwhelmed and i trump Gerard and he goes in to *assist* Dierdre there. Finally I have to pull Gerard and Dierdre out, (heh, Uncle had to do some wrestling to get her out, and one of them got a smack in on me when i yanked both of them thru a trump contact) I have to call in King Random, who arrives with the Jewel. Reports arrive of forces [Shadow Walked]? in straight from Corwins realm..he can bypass any defenses we emplace. The king uses the jewel to close the portals...adding a bit of migrane for the too snoopy onlookers (fiona) and blocks shadow shifting, closing off the shadow(s).

A message is brought to Random by andre...he needs it opened and it is black watch junk..Random wants Merlin to look at it. Guess who is elected to go find him? right, me. I contact Merlin, who is nearly incoherent with drugs...stupid..he said he was going to stay away from that last time we chatted. He is unwilling to even listen and forces the contact closed. I advise Random who ..suggests..a repeat of the family snatch i did with Gerard and Dierdre..and i set up for it..the King is standing by to assist me with a bit of PUSH and the snatch works like a charm..(something by the Jewels power?) with Merlin arriving very surprised and in a very bad way. Merlin bows to the inevitable (and King Randoms authority) and begins to detox himself (shapeshifters...*shudders*) Later he is briefed on the situation, advised that Dierdre is free, and begins to prepare to examine the locked message. he does suggest that Random scan the 3 copies of Shadow Earth to check a theory he has and is proven correct..without the connection to Argent,the only thing holding the three from snapping back to one is Random's presence with the Jewel. Random sends (heh, nobody argues much) most of the rest of the family back to Amber, with Myself and Merlin staying to observe and assist with memories of the way it was before (Mom is still unconsious)..I have as many of mom's people removed as is possible in the time we have to prepare, and Random does get the three to merge back to one..with the assistance of the jewel. I believe it wasnt easy, but he managed it..and that *should* block off the access to Argent from the current Paris. We all return to Amber to recouperate.
