Now I remember why I don’t ‘party’. It leaves you vulnerable, open to attack by your enemies or just some humanoid predator. I was fortunate that it was not a personal attack, or I would have been dead. Let me back up abit.

I had heard through the grapevine that Random had a sister Morel, who left a couple centuries ago. (That still blows my mind.) Michael found her and passed on the news about Random. She decided to come back to the Amber area. I went to Rebma to meet her. She and Mel were at a party, so I crashed. Morel is heavily into partying. I unfortunately let her talk me into taking some drugs she had, and that lead to drinking which eventually lead to passing out.

I was awakened an hour or 2 later by Llewella who had bad news. Amber was under attack. Bleys had gotten his armies organized and was attacking both city and castle. After a brief but brutal spell induced sobering up I trumped to the castle. There were a couple family members and some guards in the trump-in room. Bleys’s people were using a gas and poisoned darts fired from airguns. Flora was donating her silk slips to be torn and used as breathing filters. I pointed out that the trump room might not be the best place for us to be holed up if Bleys decided to channel an army through his trump, so we moved to the royal quarters.

Turns out that that wasn’t the brightest of ideas. Bleys has some sort of magic that allows him to use mirrors as portals. We had a bunch of his crack troops in on top of us in short order. Delwin had been wherever they were and had fallen through the mirror when it opened. He was in pretty bad shape. Fortunately, Flora’s current lover is a unicorn, so we had a healer with us. Unfortunately, the attack had come as something of a surprise, so almost no-one was wearing any sort of armor and thus vulnerable to the dart attacks. Another unfortunate thing is that many of our fighters are having to fight defensively to protect the noncombatants (primarily Vialle) and injured. I think we need to evac them, I plan to take Vialle and the wounded to my house in my home shadow. I can also grab some of my shadowrunning gear. We will see how the orc sized armored-undies fit Gerard. Maybe I should call and see if I can borrow an army from a dragon. The possibility of having them as allies is one reason we left the paths up after all. .
