Days of recovery from the rescue of Gerard begin. Gerard begins making a list of who and what to remake out of shadow. General family conferences on recrafting shadow, dangers, etc.. Gerard also meets the Unicorns...wrestles with Tarn, with a bit of GIMB (gravity control) fun thrown in.
Mykal visits his mother (Flora) and they discuss the possibility that Random is not dead, Dworkin might know more..but is rather touchy about his privacy, they also discuss techniques on recreating Naipon.
Archie begins planning for a sail to Chaos, and gathering intel on what the trip might require.
Sam contacts Corwin..has to wait till he's done fighting a battle. She recontacts and briefs her Dad on the rescue thing..and the fact that he has duties in Amber and in Rebma. She brings him through. They discuss Sams mother briefly, and Corwin begins to depart to bathe. Takes Sam along for a bit of a walk, and they discuss Absolute Monarchy and politics for a bit, then Corwin departs for a much needed bath. Sam calls Melissandra to let her know Corwin is back, and to expect a visit soonish.
Archie confers with the House Roc representitives, who advise him to study toxicology, since the use of poisons is widespread in Chaos. He goes to the Spy Corps and discusses the issue with Selene, who can teach him some easy stuff..but is reluctant to become directly involved with helping to find out a Royal's capacity without direct orders from the Queen. Tracks down Merlin who is with Flora and Eldre (the Unicorn who is most interested in Trump) ..and nearly dies of boredom listening to Art discussions.
Mykal sets the pages to warn him when Corwin departs the baths (news travels fast that he's back)..and catches him on the way to a meeting with Queen Vialle. Asks permission to accompany and listen in if the Queen has no objection. Corwin has no objection, and the Queen has Julian sit in also. Corwin briefs all on the happenings at the interruption of the Serpent. Brand may know more about that effect that took Random. An attempt to get to the Primal Pattern is scheduled for the next day..with Mykal going along in case he might be of help to Corwin.
Archie finally gets Merlin away from the ladies and Art for a few minutes. discusses the poison capabilites of shapechangers and Merlin briefs him shortly but cant really SHOW Archie much without him being a shapechanger (Archie declines to fess up) Eldre does notice and gives Archie a look, she can tell he is a shapechanger. Though she does have to change to Unicorn form to verify. She keeps the info to herself though, relieving Archie to no end.
Mykal and Corwin attempt the Mt. Krolvir shadowwalk to the primal pattern the next morning..give up later that afternoon after multiple tries, the way is blocked.
Archie goes to Queen Vialle about the poison thing and finding out a Royal's resistance...She give permission for the experiment and brings in Delwin for backup and recording. The two spend nearly 12 hours experimenting with different toxins and antitoxins, making themselves sick as dogs. Tasia Frost shows up sometime during the experiment (she is currently trying to wear Delwin out) and decides to participate herself with Magical counters to some of the poisons.
Sam gets a trump invitation to dinner with Corwin, Queen Mel, and Merlin in Rebma. A small family gathering. She goes along and has a nice quiet dinner and discusses myriad topics to include the dating of a dragon. Queen Mel is wearing the rebman jewel (possibly showing off for Corwin) and discussion turns to the rescue of family members. Showing impatience, Queen Mel has an attempt set up by Sam for ASAP in Rebma to rescue Llewella. Sam brings in Mykal, Flora, and Frost. Flora is point, Mykal is anchor, Frost provides raw magical power, Mel with the jewel provides direction and focus. Corwin provides good thoughts. The attempt is a success, a wild success since Llewella wasnt alone in her stasis pod, she had some Rebman nobles with her and was nearly wiped out..severely emaciated and near total exhaustion from protection a dozen people instead of just herself. Queen Mel overdid the jewel thing and passes out. Mykal helps trump out the survivors as they arrive, holding open a trump contact with Sam. Rebma kicks into high gear, expecting only a single patient they arent ready for a dozen others, PLUS the Queen. Recovery begins...again. Queen Vialle arrives later to visit Llewella, and congratulates the survivors and rescuers.
(fast forwarding follows) Rescue team attempts Caine..failure blocked contact...brain in a jar feeling to him.
Team attempts Martin. Success, no Stasis effect. Held captive and trump blocked by House Bariman in Chaos,Queen Mel breaks the block easily with the jewel and Mykal (on point) snatches Martin. Martin admits that there are probably a few kids from his captivity, using him as a sperm donor.
(Archie gets a normal turn) Tracks down Eldre and they talk over lunch about the possibilty of a couple Uni's going on the trip to Chaos, and the capabilities of the Unicorn horn. and her being able to recognize a shapechanger.
Rescue team attampts Dierdre..Mykal and Corwin are disinvited. team is unsuccessful, no contact. (should have used Mykal :P)
Llewella and Queen Mel get Jade...who is severly Unbalanced mentally from something she'd seen.
Sam trys at this point to Trump the rest since it seems most are no longer in stasis pods. Andre seems to be a brain in a jar. Tyler is unreachable. And when she contacts Fiona, she is forced into mental contact with Fi as she is in Severe agony. Sam ends up feeling the agony too...and damages herself severely before help arrives. Mykal has to render her unconsious to keep her from injuring herself further. She broke her own wrist in Gerards grip as he held her hands from her face. She is taken to Rebma for healing. Later, resting and sedated, she tells of Fi being in horrible agony.
A bit later she is visited by Dworkin..himself looking rather beat up and recovering. She is healed by Dworkin, and he gives Sam some of his blood to hasten her own natural regeneration. (she can now Shapechange). He also gets her memories of Fi, and using the Jewel he is wearing he Tearfully puts Fi out of her Agony, she being unrescueable in the belly of the Serpent. Sam did get to ask about Random's status and Dworkin doesnt know if he's dead, just beyond this life, One with the Pattern and the Universe, unrecoverable to his knowledge.
After recovering, Sam attempts to Trump Bleys. He is Trump blocked. Sam "Knocks" on his block and it is suddently dropped, and a power word on the other end strenthens the contact. Bleys doesnt recognize her and angrily asks who, then reaches for her to drag her through, Sam has to drop the card to break contact, and that is really difficult.

recovered family members: Gerard, Llewella, Martin, Jade(insane). still out are Caine, Dierdre, Tyler and Andre. Known dead is Fiona, and probably Random. Bleys seems to be having memory issues, though he does seem to be on Avernus.
